We took the garden over in late 2001. This L shaped plot was laid mainly to lawn but in its favour had an established shrubbery comprising mainly of rhododendron, pieris, mahonia, cotinus and viburnum. There was not a single rose bush or climber nor any spring bulbs in situ. The garden has gradually evolved with specimen plants added, a specifically designed courtyard with Japanese influence in 2003,an informal pond in 2005 and in 2006 the beginnings of a formal kitchen garden. The garden is all on one level, apart from one small step, so there is wheelchair access from the road, but not from the marked route. No dogs please, as we have 4 cats who would object!
