FRIMLEY GREEN LIBRARY COMMUNITY GARDEN

Manager-Maxine Mawr

In November 1999 "The Friends of the Library" decided to change the waste ground next to the library into a community garden. All the funds had to be raised from local businesses, donations, coffee mornings etc. In January 2000 a plan was agreed, and over the last 18mths a lot of hard work by volunteers, the "Friends" and the local Rotary Club has produced what you see today. It is now a wonderful garden with winding paths, disabled access, a story time circle, replanted trees, donated shrubs and seating, which all the community can enjoy. A display of the garden's construction will be on show on the day. Other photos, unfortunately no longer available, were taken by Chris Simmons.
